Review by hotel critic
Having recently stayed at Du Glacier Boutique & Traditions in Fiesch, I was pleased with the overall value the hotel offers. The historical charm of the property, combined with its convenient location near the train station and cable car to Fiescheralp, made it a practical choice for my Alpine adventure. The room I stayed in was a single with a new shower room in a traditional setting, complete with a balcony and a desk. While some may find the old-fashioned bed uncomfortable, I appreciated the authenticity it added to the experience. The lack of modern amenities like Wi-Fi and televisions might deter some travelers, but for me, it only added to the hotel's rustic appeal. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good, offering a variety of options to start the day off right. The on-site restaurant, though fully booked on my second night, provided a taste of local cuisine that shouldn't be missed. For those looking to explore the surrounding area, the hotel's proximity to key attractions and the glacier cable car make it an excellent choice. While Du Glacier may lack some modern conveniences, it more than makes up for it with its unique character and friendly staff. For a traveler seeking a glimpse into traditional Swiss hospitality at a reasonable price, this hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Fiesch.
